Our Story

How It Started
We first met in San Diego through Bumble in 2021. Our first date was at Pretzels & Pints, and just a month later, we were living together—and had adopted our two cats, Miso and Sukoshi.

Adventures Together
After a year and a half in San Diego, we moved to Mammoth Lakes, where our love for the outdoors really took off—snowboarding, hiking, camping, and backpacking. Mammoth also brought Nori into our lives.

A Cross-Country Chapter
In 2024, we moved to North Carolina while Rhett attended nursing school at Duke. Sadly, we lost Miso in December 2024, but she will always be part of our story.

Finding Home in SLC
Salt Lake City checked every box—mountain access, a vibrant community, and a balance of city life and outdoors. We made it official with a private elopement and are now building a life here: Rhett as a nurse in the Emergency Department at the University of Utah, and Emily as a freelance graphic designer exploring new career paths.

What’s Next
We spend as much time outside as possible, exploring trails, restaurants, and everything SLC has to offer. We’re excited to share this special place with you as we celebrate together!
